Life in northwest Wisconsin isn’t just where Indiana Thompson is from, it’s who he is. Whether it’s time spent outdoors, building relationships, or supporting local communities, his approach to leadership reflects the same values people here live every day.
Indiana believes leadership should feel familiar, honest, and grounded—not distant or disconnected. It’s about showing up, understanding what matters to families, and working to protect the way of life that makes this region home.

He understands the challenges facing northern Wisconsin because he’s lived them, and he’s committed to delivering solutions that are straightforward, effective, and built to last.
With a foundation of integrity and accountability, Indiana is dedicated to leading with honesty, listening to the people he represents, and standing up for the communities that keep this region strong.
Small Business Development
Small Businesses Deserve Room to Grow
Everyone deserves the chance to build their dream. I will fight for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and workers who keep our communities strong. Wisconsin needs to reduce the barriers that hamper start up businesses. Regulations can hinder small business opportunities with unnecessary red tape taking months for loans and licensing approvals. We need to lower the tax burden for new businesses for their first five years to allow for growth and development.
Education
Education Should Open Doors, Not Depend on Income
Through fair and competitive opportunities, higher education should be accessible to everyone, because talent, not income, should determine our future. The Wisconsin legislature has moved school funding away from state and sales taxes towards property taxes, while increasing funding to the school voucher program. Our Wisconsin schools have gone without a cost-of-living adjustment from the state since 2009. We need to lower property taxes while continuing to support funding our schools from state and sales taxes. Schools should not be forced into proposing referendums solely to cover operational expenses while private schools take public monies.
Healthcare
Healthcare Should Be Affordable and Close to Home
Too many families in northern Wisconsin lack reliable access to healthcare. It’s time we fix that, so quality care is close to home for everyone. The rising cost of healthcare and the healthcare desert (lack of quality healthcare in rural communities) in our district is causing a strain on Wisconsin families. Healthcare as a profit-driven system, with a lack of price transparency, and a fee-for-service model, incentivizes volume over value and further drives up costs. Unchecked increases in pricing, prescription medications and high administrative costs contribute to a system that is financially unsustainable for families. Wisconsin needs to look at regulations that enable these inflated expenses and find ways to encourage investment in our local hospitals and clinics.
